#Dress up 2019

#Dress up 2019

Can you believe that 2019 is upon us?

Where did 2018 go?

Well with Christmas well and truly behind us, all of the focus has now shifted to the New Year and that means “outfits, venues, goals and resolutions”.

This post will concentrate on outfits. We can look into some of the other topics in a future post.

Now it could be that you want to go out on New Years Eve and paint the town red or you just want a  quiet one at home with your loved ones.  Whichever one it is, I’m sure you will want to be dressed appropriately.

I’m sharing  a couple of looks which could be considered for a night out.  The first is a one shoulder LBD which can be paired with some killer heels or boots and then accessorised with gold or silver jewellery.

Some examples of similar dresses are in the links below:

If you decide that you would prefer to shimmer your way into the New Year, you may consider a black and silver sequin dress like this.

Pair it with some killer heels or boots and you’re good to go. You wont need to go overboard with your accessories, just some bold earrings and maybe a bangle and a watch.  Fashion rings would finish the look.

Whatever you decide, Have a great one! xo

My Valentine’s day makeup…

My Valentine’s day makeup…

Happy Valentine’s day!

A day of love and romance.  I actually believe that love should be celebrated and made  a fuss of any day  of the year, but hey lets get back to this specific day.  This is  a day most will share with their partners, husbands, lovers  etc.  But its not just about romantic love.  Love goes beyond that.  It’s about extending that hand of friendship to someone who you may not reach out to usually.  Remembering people from your past, remembering people or family who may have lost someone, remembering your single friends and family, widows and widowers or even forgiving someone who has wronged you!  The last one can be difficult but definitely doable, life is too short!:-)

As I write these things, I’m also talking to myself. Now if you opt to stay in by yourself, watch romcoms and eat chocolates or not celebrate it at all, it all definitely works. How ever you decide to spend it, have an open heart and enjoy your day…

Okay back to the makeup….

This year I’ve opted for  a soft glam Valentines day look.  The colours I’ve chosen would work across a spectrum of skin tones. This can be worn out on a date or if your out with friends or family.

I used the Naked 3 palette to create a pink soft smokey eye.

Hi beauties,

Its been a while.  I hope you’re all well…

Today I wanted to share one of my “warm tones”  eye make up looks, which I really enjoyed creating.  Anyone who knows me knows I like nudes, beiges , browns, camels etc.  But every so often I’ll most definitely pull out a pop of colour!

For this look I used the Coastal scents 252 Ultimate palette, which is a great palette with a wide range of pigmented colours.  Its reasonably priced at around  £23.99.

Unfortunately the colours are not named or numbered so I can’t give you the name of the exact  colour, but I can show you.

Eyes:

I used the gold on the main lid, with the yellows in the mid lid.  The crease was the deep brown, the transition colour was a lighter brown.  Then I used the rustic, orangey, brown on  the  far right to add a little more colour.  Ardell Professional  lashes completed the eyes.

Eyebrows:

Anastasia Beverley Hill Dip brow pomade in dark brown.  I love this pomade.  It so easy to apply and long-lasting,  but you must get a small eyebrow brush to apply it.  I use the Anastasia eyebrow brush which allows me to apply the pomade with definition.  I used  L.A. Girl Pro wear concealer (Fawn) to define the eyebrow.

Face:

Revlon photo ready foundation in Cappuccino. This is a full coverage, oil free and fragrance free cream foundation. I have only recently used it and I have to say I quite like it. Its reasonably priced and is long lasting.

Highlight:

Mac’s pro longwear concealer in NW40.  This stuff does what it says on the tin.  It lasts all day!

Mac’s  Gold deposit Mineralise skin finish for a little shimmer.

Contour:

I used the Sleek powder contour kit in dark and my blush was Sleek Sahara.

Lips:

My favourite matte nude lippie is Yash by Mac.  It is a little pale so I usually add a small amount of a  dark colour.  This time I used Iman’s Truffle.

I hope you like the look and I hope it gave you some ideas if you’re into  warm toned make up…

Look after yourselves and see you soon

Playing in the playsuit..

Playing in the playsuit..

2015-10-01 22.18.212015-10-01 22.16.15Hi guys,

I recently wore  this playsuit on holiday from Boohoo.com which was very comfortable. This can be dressed up or down as with most things now of days.  I wore it with some bold silver jewellery.  I would also wear this with a  colour statement jewellery piece, like red.  I don’t usually wear shorts or playsuits often so this was quite new for me.  Its loose fitting with a belt to pull in the waist and you can wear it with a  nice pair of pumps or strappy heals to compete the outfit.
