Back with a smokey eye….

Back with a smokey eye….

Hi beauties,

Its been a while since I posted due to various reasons. One being that I travelled, then on my return I caught the flu a few times and was completely knocked out.  But I’m back now and I must say I have missed you and my blog.  I hope you all had a great Christmas and New year – I know it was ages ago :-).  Its hard to believe that we are fast approaching the end of January already….

This is a smokey eye that I tried using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. This palette has more cooler tones like silvers and shimmery neutrals when compared with the original Naked palette.2015-01-24-15-36-45-995c

Naked eyes…

Naked eyes…

Hi guys,

I have never claimed to be a makeup artist, but I do enjoy makeup.  So I guess I’m more of a  makeup enthusiast!

So this is how I did my eye makeup the other day, using my Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette. I wasn’t sure about this palette at first. I wondered if these colours would compliment my skin tone, but I must say,  I’m quite loving it.  I have never really worn pink shades before, but if you put the right colours together and create a smokey eye, you get quite a nice  bright finish… 🙂

I wore this look during the day at the weekend.  I wanted an understated, but made up look.

Recreate the look:

Naked 3 colours

Eyelid – Buzz

Outer V – Black heart

Transition colour – Factory

Eye brow highlight – Dust

Liquid eyeliner – Dior

Mascara – Estee Lauder, Sumptuous Extreme Lash multiplying, black

Lips  – Jubilee by Mac

What do you think of the Naked 3 palette?

The most important thing is to blend, blend and blend some more, so the colours appear to seamlessly merge into each other.

Makeup is fun,  something to be enjoyed and we can all experiment. Mistakes may happen, but the key is to just try again…

Till next time….

Some current beauty faves..

Some current beauty faves..

Hi guy’s,

Here are some  beauty  products  I  use, which  have really become some of my favourite staple items.

Coco Chanel mademoiselle

Love this!  It’s a long term favourite of mine.  It has a classy scent… not too sweet, not too overwhelming, but potent enough to get noticed!  I get a lot compliments from both men and women when I wear this. DSC_0538

Revlon colorstsay foundation

I recently came across this and love it. It gives me great coverage and  a nice oil free finish. I mix the the caramel and the cappuccino colours to get my blend. It comes in many different shades for most skin tones.  I have combination skin, so I use this formula.  A nice liquid foundation, which is also very easy on the wallet…. DSC_0475

Victoria secret

An oldie but a goodie. If you use the lotion and then  apply some of the body spray,  you get a longer lasting fresh scent.  Love!

Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette

Recently bought this.  The third in the  Urban Decay Naked series of palettes.  I love the metal outer case. I also have the first Naked palette. This palette has a great mixture of nice, bright, simple colours.

Working on our inner beauty….

Working on our inner beauty….

Beauty begins from within.

Its so cliche…but so true.  We can look gorgeous on the outside, but the true beauty comes from what is happening on the inside.  What makes up this inner beauty? There may be many different answers and different opinions on this but ultimately I think we all have to discover and work on our own inner beauty.

I believe the fundamentals should be a gentle spirit, compassion, be slow to speak, quick to listen, kindness, joy, love, generosity and confidence.  Your words should not cut through the delicate layers of another individual.

Remember the film Shallow Hal? If we don’t have the inner beautiful going on, we might as well forget the external physical beautiful.   Sometimes the most beautiful thing about a person is when they don’t even realise how beautiful they are physically.

I love trying out new beauty products, makeup, developing my style etc, but my inner beauty is just as important, if not more so.  I think we can all work on a few of these things, myself included. At the end of the day we are all a work in progress.

Lets learn and grow…
